Finding The Land

You need people and a place for new ideas to take root and begin to grow.

For 25 years I’ve been going to a special place about 45 minutes from the idyllic Napa Valley in Northern California.

The initial attraction was an amazing hot spring, Harbin. Located in an isolated canyon, its healing waters provide an escape from the hustle and bustle of the San Francisco Bay Area. Eventually purchasing a vacation cabin I started spending time in the area on a regular basis…I fell in love with Lake County.

In 2015 the hot spring and general area were devastated by one of the first California mega fires. While I lost my cabin, I didn’t lose my love for the area.

Fast forward to 2023, the hot spring has been rebuilt, I have a new cabin and I’m feeling drawn to the regenerative farming movement. From time to time I would look online for land, holding the intention for the perfect parcel.

In July of 2023 I was scheduled to go to my cabin for a few days and on a whim I looked for land for sale. To my delight there was a 20 acre parcel for sale…it was flat, on a seasonal creek and sat on one of the biggest aquifers in Lake County. There were some small buildings, a well operated with off the grid solar and an old tractor with a variety of attachments. And it was located on the road to the hot spring.

It was perfect!

Other Updates

I scheduled a visit, meet the owner and got to see and feel the land. Going to sit in the waters of the hot spring I imagined the possibilities. That night at the cabin , in my sleep, all my fears came to the surface! The contrast between the head and the heart. Sitting in the tension, I listened to my heart. After putting together an offer, the owner accepted. From the day I first saw the property to the day I owned it was 2 weeks. It was meant to be!
